ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon returned to the circle at ONE on Prime Video 4 on Friday night to defend his crown against the promotion’s reigning strawweight Muay Thai world titleholder, Joseph ‘The Hurricane’ Lasiri.

After going from 0-4 in ONE Championship to capturing a world title in his last outing, Lasiri stepped in against ‘The Iron Man’ with hopes of scoring the biggest win of his combat sports career on top of a second ONE world title.

Joseph Lasiri stayed light on his feet as Rodtang walked his man down with an eerie sense of complete calm. Lasiri lands a solid 1-2 combination and ‘The Iron Man’ immediately encouragesd him to do it again in an entertaining opening round. In round two, Rodtang continued to walk down Lasiri and was much more willing to throw, landing solid combinations and sitting ‘The Hurricane’ down with an inside elbow. Rodtang continued to beat the lead leg of Lasiri as the second came to a close.

Two rounds in and it was clear that Joseph Lasiri had bitten off more than he could chew. In the next two rounds, Rodtang would continue to control the pace and land the bigger strikes including a knockdown of ‘The Hurricane’ towards the end of the fourth.

With 45 seconds left in the final round, Rodtang lands a nasty right that puts Lasiri on the canvas for the second time. ‘The Hurricane’ answered the count but was unable to do much more than avoid further damage as the bout came to a close.

Official Result: Rodtang Jitmuangnon defeated Joseph Lasiri via unanimous decision

Rodtang Jitmuangnon earns his 269th career win at ONE on Prime Video 4

With a victory over Joseph Lasiri at ONE on Prime Video 4, Rodtang Jitmuangnon successfully defended his ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship and improved to an incredible 11-0 in ONE Championship Muay Thai competition.

Overall, it was his 269th career win which is incredibly impressive considering ‘The Iron Man’ is just 25 years old.

Following the contest, Rodtang Jitmuangnon spoke with ONE commentator Mitch Chilson inside the circle to discuss his epic performance:

“First of all, I want to apologize to fans all over the world about the last fight. I cannot make it. This time, I hope I do not disappoint anybody about this fight. I have been a champion for a long time. I feel like I have improved much. I will continue to entertain my fans around the world.”

While Mitch Chilson did not have an opportunity to discuss what comes next for Rodtang, our best guess would be the winner of the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai world grand prix finals between Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Panpayak Jitmuangnon. That fight goes down in just a few short weeks at ONE 164 on December 24.
