Brendan Schaub believes Sean O'Malley is the successor to Conor McGregor and the glorious era of the past.

The former UFC fighter took to Twitter to review McGregor's recently released documentary on Netflix, McGregor Forever. The documentary follows the period of his career upon his return from the blockbuster boxing matchup against Floyd Mayweather.

It chronicles McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov, the pandemic, and his injury against Dustin Poirier after two back-to-back losses. Schaub hailed the period as a golden time in mixed martial arts and was nostalgic about it in his tweet.

"Finally watched the @TheNotoriousMMA doc on @netflix so damn good. Looking back at it now that was the greatest time in combat history. Not just one fight the entire ride. Unfortunately, I don’t think we ever experience that again. Aldo rivalry, Khabib, Diaz, and the historic Floyd boxing match. Once in a lifetime type of thing. That bums me out."

UFC bantamweight contender Sean O'Malley replied to Schaub's tweet asking him to 'sit back and enjoy' and in turn was met with praise from him. Schaub stated that O'Malley might be the fighter to usher in the glory of the era gone past and wrote:

"Facts. You might be the next chosen one"

Conor McGregor re-enters the USADA testing pool for his imminent return to action

Conor McGregor's imminent return to the UFC has been delayed due to his ongoing disagreement with the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).

McGregor is scheduled to take on Michael Chandler after The Ultimate Fighter's season finale. The show is set to premiere at the end of May.

With no fight date announced, fans have been expecting further updates on the matchup. USADA came out with a statement affirming that Conor McGregor has re-entered the testing pool and the news bodes well for his octagon return.

The statement read:

“We have recently been in direct contact with Conor McGregor, and as he confirmed today in the media, we expect to receive his paperwork coming out of retirement and re-entering the USADA testing pool immediately."

'The Notorious' will be subject to the same testing policy as any other inactive fighter by being in the testing pool for six months prior to getting back to fighting. Two negative samples will also be required from the fighter for his clearance.
