Superlek Kiatmoo9 believes he will be one step ahead of Rodtang Jitmuangnon when the two Muay Thai warriors strap on the 8oz gloves for a ONE kickboxing world title clash.

On March 24, ONE Championship returns to the Singapore Indoor Stadium with two contests fans have been waiting to see for quite some time. In the main event of the evening, two-division ONE world champion Anatoly Malykhin will unify his interim heavyweight crown against reigning ONE heavyweight world titleholder Arjan Bhullar.

Before the two behemoths clash inside the cage, fans will finally be treated to the long-awaited superfight between ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek and ‘The Iron Man’ Rodtang.

Speaking to ONE Championship ahead of the highly anticipated showdown, Superlek was confident that he will have Rodtang’s timing and patterns committed to memory even before stepping inside the Circle with him:

“Every fighter has their own way of stepping,” Superlek explained. “And I see Rodtang step clearly, like how he will punch and follow with a kick. So, I can predict his patterns clearly.”

Superlek Kiatmoo9 captured the ONE kickboxing crown in January after besting Spanish standout Daniel Puertas, earning a unanimous decision victory.

Rodtang Jitmuangnon is currently 11-0 in Muay Thai competition, but scored his second-straight kickboxing victory against Jiduo Yibu at ONE Fight Night 6 in January, the same night ‘The Kicking Machine’ captured his ONE world title.

Rodtang ready to tackle mixed martial arts once he settles business with Superlek

Dominating in the art of eight limbs over the years, Rodtang Jitmuangnon is ready to move ahead with his career. On March 24, he’ll take the first step when he tries to accomplish his goal of being a two-sport ONE world champion.

Superlek Kiatmoo9 will most certainly have something to say about that when they step inside the cage, but should ‘The Iron Man’ emerge victorious, he already has his next move planned out:

“My goal is still the same,” Rodtang said. “I’d like to make a run at MMA and kickboxing gold. I want to develop myself into a better athlete and try out different sports.”

If he leaves Singapore with another ONE world title wrapped around his waist, you can expect to see Rodtang begin a transition to MMA, according to the man himself:

“I will set my goals one by one. First, I will go for the kickboxing belt, and next it will be in MMA.”

At ONE X in March 2022, ‘The Iron Man’ competed in the promotion’s first-ever mixed-rules superfight with ONE flyweight king Demetrious Johnson. Alternating between rounds of Muay Thai and MMA rule sets, Rodtang lost for the first time inside the Circle during the second round with ‘Mighty Mouse’ managing to drag him to the ground and submit him via a rear-naked choke.

When he is ready to pursue mixed martial arts, ‘The Iron Man’ plans to reach out to Johnson for training and guidance.
