Justin Gaethje at UFC 274: Oliveira vs. Gaethje

UFC lightweight Rafael Fiziev has creatively called for a fight with Justin Gaethje by defeating the American's character in the UFC's latest video game.

Fiziev has been in the form of his career as of late, sporting an impressive six-fight win streak. 'Ataman' holds wins over Renato Moicano and former champion Rafael dos Anjos, and has earned himself either a Performance or Fight of the Night bonus in five of his last six victories.

The UFC rankings place the 29-year-old at No.5 at 155lbs, with 'The Highlight' two places above at No.3. Gaethje's last UFC appearance was an unsuccessful bout for the lightweight title, losing out to Charles Oliveira via a first-round submission at UFC 274.

Fiziev said on Twitter:

"EA Sports, It's in the game. Justin 'The no have a chance' Gaethje."

On paper, a fight between Rafael Fiziev and Gaethje makes sense. Both fighters are vying for a run at the title and a potential victory for Fiziev would catapult 'Ataman' into title contention. It would also add another notable name to his resume.

For Justin Gaethje, his loss to 'do Bronx' was the second time he came up short whilst fighting for the lightweight title. The American is known for his do-or-die attitude but on two occasions when it counts, he has come up short. Should a fight between him and Fiziev materialize, fans of the the 34-year-old will be hoping it's a catalyst for success for the human highlight reel.

Ali Abdelaziz wants to see Justin Gaethje vs. Conor McGregor

Dominance MMA CEO Ali Abdelaziz is "confident" his client Justin Gaethje will have no problems putting away UFC star Conor McGregor.

During a recent interview with 'The Schmo', Abdelaziz was asked about Gaethje and his future. According to the MMA manager, he'd like Conor McGregor's UFC return to be against 'The Highlight':

"I would like to see Justin Gaethje destroy Conor McGregor and put him in a wheelchair. I would love to see that... Any weight. He can take all the steroids he wants, he can take all the juice. EPO and everything. Whatever he want to take, he can take. I would like to see this fight but we know he doesn't like to fight anymore. He wants easy fights. He's probably not going to fight Justin Gaethje."

A fight between 'Mystic Mac' and Gaethje almost materialized back in 2020 after the pair went back and forth on social media. According to both men, they had agreed but their opponent backed out of the fight, although the UFC has confirmed neither story.

With no love lost between the two men and Conor McGregor seemingly destined for an octagon return next year, it's certainly a possibility he could stand across from Justin Gaethje in his next fight.
