The UFC is once again at the forefront of Sportskeeda's latest edition of the MMA News Roundup. One of the promotion's former fighters was recently arrested for an alleged assault on a family member. Meanwhile, Kayla Harrison scoffed at Julianna Peña's record ahead of their bantamweight title fight.
In more title news, Jon Jones recently implied that he's more willing to relinquish the heavyweight belt than fight Tom Aspinall.
A former UFC heavyweight finds himself on the wrong side of the law
Controversial ex-UFC heavyweight and former NFL player Greg Hardy was reportedly arrested on June 4 for allegedly assaulting a family member. There aren't too many details regarding the incident, besides a report suggesting that the assault led to physical injury to the undisclosed family member.

This isn't the first time Hardy has been linked to physical assault allegations. During his stint as an American football player, Hardy was arrested for allegedly assaulting an ex-girlfriend. However, the charges were dropped after the alleged victim failed to turn up in court.
Kayla Harrison pokes fun at Julianna Peña
The UFC 316 pre-fight press conference was a short one. Among the shortest in the promotion's history, in fact. It did, however, have some trash-talking gems, including a cutting comment from Kayla Harrison about Julianna Peña's mettle as a fighter.
"You've lost more fights than I've lost rounds."
Check out Kayla Harrison's dig at Julianna Peña (16:21):
For context, Peña has a 12-5 record, which no one will envy as she has nearly half the number of losses that she has wins. While she's a two-time women's bantamweight champion, a glance at her record doesn't necessarily give it away.
Jon Jones doesn't fear being stripped of the heavyweight title
The UFC heavyweight division is in limbo due to Jon Jones' unwillingness to fight Tom Aspinall and unify the belts. Some believe the silence on the promotion's end is due to Jones as champion being leverage at the negotiation table for TV deals. Regardless, the man himself doesn't care and is even willing to vacate the belt.
"And remember, you can't strip a guy like me at this point. I give the belt up freely. Veni, vidi, vici."
Check out Jon Jones' post below:
This isn't the first time Jones has claimed not to care if he gets stripped. But with fan frustration growing, even leading to a petition for him to be stripped, the promotion could risk losing some of the goodwill it has fostered over the years.
