Demetrious Johnson weighs in on potential Kayla Harrison vs. Amanda Nunes fight
Kayla Harrison secured the women's bantamweight championship with a submission victory over Julianna Pena last Saturday at UFC 316. Following her win, Harrison called out Amanda Nunes to the octagon, and both fighters expressed the desire to take on each other next.
In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Demetrious Johnson previewed the potential matchup. Suggesting that Harrison would be an easy opponent for Nunes, he said:
"I think that’s a very bad, a very, very bad idea. [The] reason why is because, yes, Kayla is a world champion. But when you look at the roster, Amanda Nunes fought and what Kayla fought, there’s no f**ing comparison. Not one... Amanda Nunes doesn't need to come out of retirement. I mean, I think the only thing that's enticing her to come out of retirement is probably because how easy the fight might be."

In June 2023, Nunes announced her retirement from MMA at UFC 289. However, during her face-off against Harrison at UFC 316, the Brazilian announced her return from retirement to fight the women's bantamweight champion.
