Niantic recently announced the Monster Hunter Now Prepare for Kirin event, set to commence on January 20, 2025. Since the event is centered around the increased spawn rate of fire-element monsters, players can use it to farm weapons for the upcoming Monster Hunter Now Winter Hunt 2025 event. Prepare for Kirin is a continuation of the ongoing Roars from the Winternind season.

Here are the details of the upcoming Prepare for Karin event in Monster Hunter Now:

Schedule

The event will start at 9:00 AM on January 20, 2025, and will run till January 26, 2025, at 11:59 PM, local time. Hunters have almost seven days to play and progress in the event.

Monster appearances

These monsters will have an increased spawn rate for the corresponding reasons:

Silver Rathalos: Forest and swamp habitats
Azure Rathalos: Forest habitat
Rathalos: Forest habitat
Aknosom: Swamp and tundra habitats
Basarios: Desert habitat
Anjanath: Desert habitat

On top of that, there will be some event-exclusive Hunt-a-thon points featuring only Silver Rathalos, Azure Rathalos, Rathalos, Basarios, and Anjanath monsters.

Rewards

The Monster Hunter Now Prepare for Kirin event will feature time-limited quests, tasking players to slay event-exclusive monsters. The rewards are as follows:

Earth Crystals and other gatherable materials.
Wyvern Gem Shard and Silver Rathalos Plate and other monster materials.

Additionally, hunters will be rewarded 50% more materials for slaying event-featured monsters.

The Monster Hunter Now Prepare for Kirin event will be available for all hunters who have completed the prologue.
Eligible players will get access to the Event quests in the Special Quests tab.
The quests will arrive on January 20 and expire on January 26, 2025, when the event ends.
