Monster Hunter Now Season 4 update will be released on December 12, 2024, bringing with it the new Roars from the Winterwind season. It is packed with fresh content, including new monsters to hunt, habitats to explore, and weapons to master. Additionally, you will now be able to customize your Palico by giving it a unique fur color, facial features, and name.

What are the new features coming to Monster Hunter Now Season 4 update

New monsters and habitat

A new habitat, Tundra, will soon be introduced to Monster Hunter Now, featuring the following new monsters: Tigrex, Lagombi, Volvidon, and Somnacanth. Additionally, three monsters, namely Barioth, Wulg, and Cortos, will return with the new habitat.

Here is how players can unlock them in the Monster Hunter Now season 4 update:

  • Tigrex, Volvidon, and Somnacanth will appear on the field, once players hunt them in the Season 4 urgent quest.
  • Tigrex will appear in Hunt-a-thon points, and rarely on the field.
  • Lagombi will appear for hunters who have completed the prologue.

New weapon: Switch Axe

The Switch Axe is an upcoming Monster Hunter Now weapon with two modes: long-reaching-Axe Mode and the fast-attacking Sword Mode. It can be unlocked by completing the pre-season story Chapter 2.

New features Palico

Palico is a little creature that assists hunters with hunting monsters and gathering materials. While Monster Hunter Now has always featured a Palico, hunters will now be able to customize its fur color, and facial features, and give it a name.

Additionally, players will be able to take pictures of their Palico in real-world settings, using the AR photography feature.

Changes in Monster appearances

Certain monsters will stop appearing in the field once season 4 starts. Players will have to unlock them by completing urgent quests that will drop during the Roars of the Winterwind season.

Here is a list of monsters that will stop appearing after the Monster Hunter Now Season 4 update goes live:

  • Radobaan
  • Zinogre
  • Tzitzi-Ya-Ku
  • Odogaron
  • Basarios
  • Khezu
  • Mizutsune
  • Magnamalo
  • Rajang
  • Pink Rathian
  • Black Diablos
  • Azure Rathalos
  • Coral Pukei-Pukei
  • Nightshade Paolumu

Additionally, the Monster Tracker will be unable to specify the following:

  • Radobaan
  • Tzitzi-Ya-Ku
  • Odogaron
  • Basarios
  • Khezu
  • Magnamalo

Other new features

  • Friend Cheering: Cheer your friends to increase their maximum health for the day.
  • Loadouts: The number of load-outs is going to be increased. Additionally, players will be able to link driftsmelting skills to specific loadouts.
  • New skills: Players will be able to master new skills including Critical Ferocity, Shared Sheild, and Morph Boost.
  • New Medals: The game will feature new hunter medals.
  • Season Supply Items: 250 slot Item Box expansion will be available at the shop as a Supply Item.
  • Season 4 Pass: The new season will also feature a unique pass.
