MPL Malaysia Season 14 Regular Season is nearing its end with Week 4's conclusion. The top eight teams from the Malaysian MLBB esports scene fought valiantly over the last four weekends to secure their spot in the playoffs. Since Malaysia is hosting the M6 World Championship this year, teams from the region have extra motivation to be involved in this year's MPL competition.

Minggu Diraja (the Royal Week in Bahasa Malaysia) has shown that there can only be one king on the throne as the defending champions won their game against Team Vamos to secure the top spot of the table with 17 points.

While eight matches were scheduled for the fourth week of Mobile Legends Bang Bang Professional League Malaysia (MPL Malaysia) Season 14, the majority of the community's attention was focused on the second match of Day 2, between Selangor Red Giants and Team Vamos.

Selangor Red Giants managed to maintain their run of good form throughout the Regular Season. However, Team Vamos, the newly promoted team, also kept challenging their spot at the top of the table multiple times.

The circumstances were such that only the clash between these two teams on the second day of the Royal Week could have decided the top team of the Regular Season. In this deciding match, Selangor Red Giants managed to beat Team Vamos 2-0 in that match to assert their domination in the competition.

Selangor Red Goants Coach Michael "Arcadia" Bocado seemed jubilant after the win:

"W're confident that we can win it all as long as we sacrifice as how we sacrificed last season."

However, he has also cautioned his players saying:

"I think that the confidence is always there. It's just up to us how we're going to put in the work. Because, we cannot be confident and not do anything extraordinary or don't put the work into the game."

In other games, Monster Vicious failed to beat RSG Malaysia and HomeBois, two of the country's most decorated teams. These teams' fixtures against the all-Malaysian lineup of Monster Vicious helped them grab their first win of the season. While the victory helped HomeBois enter the top six for the first time this season, RSG Malaysia's position did not improve.

With these two defeats, Monster Vicious lost their three-match win streak. However, they will be thankful to their rivals, especially TODAK, as they have also dropped some vital points against HomeBois (1-2) and JP Niners (1-2), which ensured that Monster Vicious was not losing their footing to their rivals.

Having played one extra game than Monster Vicious, TODAK entered the top three in the league table for the very first time, this season.

On the other hand, HomeBois' first victory of the season helped them climb out of the relegation zone. HomeBois has been sub-par throughout the season after losing their main squad to Team Vamos before the start of the season.

MPL Malaysia Season 14 is still very much on in the fifth week of the Regular Season, as some teams can still secure their spots in the Playoffs.

MPL Malaysia Season 14 Week 5: Fixtures

All eyes will be on Team Vamos and how they bounce back from their humbling at the hands of Selangor Red Giants. They will open Week 5 against Monster Vicious on October 4, 2024, at 3:15 PM GMT+8, who themselves need to rediscover the same form that saw them notch back-to-back victories in their first three games of the season. This will be a true test of mental fortitude.

Team Vamos will next go up against Homebois in MPL Malaysia Season 14 on October 5, 2024, at 3:00 PM GMT+8, in a bittersweet reunion for Muhammad "Udil" Ardiansyah. Malaysia's most expensive esports athlete, Udil was transferred in from the Indonesian team, Alter Ego Esports, for a record MYR 330,000 in January. He is the only member from Homebois starting lineup still with the team.

However, the mid laner has since been usurped by Mohammad "Izanami" Lim and may watch proceedings from the sidelines. Despite that, his knowledge of his old teammates, including that of his old coach, Khairul "Pabz" Sharif, might be crucial to allowing Homebois to pull off a shocking result.

Despite having already qualified for the playoffs, Selangor Red Giants will look to maintain their win streak against JP NINERS at 3:00 PM GMT+8 on October 6, 2024. However, the team from Negeri Sembilan will not make life easy, having just secured a win over TODAK. The success of JP NINERS will heavily depend on their high-risk, high-reward playstyle. The Red Giants will be looking to punish them if they overextend, as they often do.
