William McComas Byron Jr. is an American professional stock car racing driver and competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for Hendrick Motorsports. Byron, winner of the 2024 and 2025 Daytona 500 race in the Cup Series, is also a NASCAR champion. He won the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2017. Byron is driving the No. 24 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Hendrick Motorsports in 2025. He also drives the No. 17 Chevy Camaro part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Byron was among the championship contenders in the Championship Four race in 2023.

William Byron has received the Rookie of the Year consecutively from 2015-2018 in every NASCAR series he has participated in. He was awarded the Rookie of the Year honors in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2018. Byron has been racing in the NASCAR Cup Series for over seven years, as of February 2025. He started his offline racing career with the help of his father and won the Legend Car Young Lions Division champion by winning 33 races throughout the season.

Byron attained sponsorship from Liberty University and started his first NASCAR race in 2015 in the K&N Pro Series. His career leaped in 2016 when he joined Kyle Busch Motorsports to compete in the Craftsman Truck Series. William Byron won 7 races in his Rookie season, becoming the first Rookie to do so in the Truck Series.
