Abdoulay Konko: A Brief Biography

Abdoulaye Konko Faye is a French footballer who currently plays for Lazio in Serie A as a right back. He is a dribbler and is proficient in playing on either wing. He was part of the talent that Juventus F.C. produced and was loaned out to F.C. Crotone with Giovanni Bartolucci, Tomas Guzman, Antonio Mirante, Matteo Paro and Daniele Gastaldello in 2004 and with Guzman in 2005. In 2006, he was sold for a whopping €1 million in a co-ownership deal to A.C. Siena. On 25 January 2007, Konko was sold by Juventus to Genoa for €1 million as part of the deal for Domenico Criscito. In the summer of 2008 Konko was transferred to Sevilla FC for undisclosed fee. Konko signed a five-year contract with Sevilla and had a €60 million release clause written into his contract. On 19 January 2011, Konko returned to Genoa for undisclosed fee. He played 13 matches in Serie A for the rossoblu, beforel moving to Lazio on a four year contract.
