Adam Federici: A Brief Biography

Adam Jay Federici is an Australian football (soccer) player from (Sydney) Australia, who plays as a goalkeeper for PremierLeague club Reading and the Australia national team. Federici started his career in Huskisson Soccer Club and was part of the Australian Institute for Sport before making the move at 17 to pursue a dream to play in Europe. He signed Reading in January 2005 and was quickly loaned out to Maidenhead. During the second half of the 2005–06 season, he was on loan to Carshalton Athletic. He joined Bristol City on a loan deal on August 2006 and signed his first professional contract for Reading in the summer 2006. His impressive performance Manchester United during an FA Cup 5th Round tie at Old Trafford, earned him the FA Cup \"Player of the Round\" for the 5th Round. Federici joined League One side Southend United on a month\'s loan on 25 September 2008. Adam played for the Australia U20 team, the \'Young Socceroos\', in the FIFA World Youth Championship 2005. He was selected to play for Australia at the Beijing Olympic Games, producing three brilliant matches as the goalkeeper of the tournament. Adam Federici started in a World Cup Qualifier match against Oman on 11th October 2011, where he made a great save from a free kick.
