Alessandro Diamanti: A Brief Biography

Alessandro Diamanti is an Italian professional football player who is currently playing for Serie A club Bologna and the Italy national football team as an attacking midfielder. He started his professional football career playing for his hometown club, Prato from season 2001-07. In the summer of 2004, he joined U.C. AlbinoLeffe in a co-ownership deal after which he was loaned back to Prato. After scoring 15 goals in 31 outings during season 2006–07 he signed for Italian Serie A side Livorno. In season 2008–09 he scored 20 goals in 39 league and cup matches, helping Livorno gain promotion to Italian Serie A. Thereafter, Diamanti played on loan with Fucecchio during season 2001-02, Florentia Viola in 2003 and Albion Leffe in season 2004-05. During the season 2007-2010, he played with various teams like Livorno, West Ham United and Brescia. Diamanti has international experience, he made his debut with the Italian national team against Romania on November 17th, 2010 and played only the first-half of his debut game before being substituted. On August 1st, 2011 he signed on with Bologna in a co-ownership deal with Brescia.
