Alessandro Gamberini: A Brief Biography

Alessandro Gamberini is an Italian footballer from Bologna, Italy who plays central defense for S.S.C. Napoli in Serie A. He started his career with Bologna F.C. 1909 and was a member of the club from 1999-2005. He made his debut in a 1–3 away defeat against S.S. Lazio on 9 January 2000. In the 2000 off-season, he was acquired by Juventus F.C. in a co ownership deal. Gamberini spent most of his professional career with ACF Fiorentina, scoring two goals, and appearing 224 official games over the course of seven season and eventually captaining the team in July 2011. Thereafter, at the age of 31 he signed a combined deal of €8.5 million with S.S.C Napoli along with team mateValon Behrami in July 2012. An Italian international in the late 2000s, Gamberini represented the country at Euro 2008 and the 2009 Confederations Cup. Alessandro started in his debut with the Italian national team in a 2–0 friendly win against South Africa on 17 October 2007 and has since played a total of 6 games for the Italian National Team.
