Alessandro LUCARELLI: A Brief Biography

Alessandro Lucarelli, born in Livorno is an Italian football (soccer) defender who currently plays for Parma. He is a left-footed centre back who can also play left back. He has a yonger brother- Cristiano Lucarelli, who plays for Napoli. Both the Lucarelli brothers captained their respective clubs for the 2006–07 season. He embarked on his football career with club Piacenza, making around 89 appearences for the team. From 1997 to 1998, he was on loan with Leffe, following which he spent a season long period with Palermo. In 2003, he signed on with Fiorentina and played in 31 matches for the team. He was with Livorno from 2004-2005, having made 27 appearences and four goals to his credit. He signed on a two year contract with Reggina, playing in 67 matches and scoring four goals. He was exchanged to A.C. Siena in summer 2007 for Francesco Cozza, but left for Genoa C.F.C. after signing a three year contract worth €1.9 million. In summer 2008, he rejoined Cristiano at Parma F.C., for €1.2 million. Alessandro has made 57 appearances in Serie A, 37 in Serie B and five in the Coppa Italia.
