Alex Reyes

Alexander Reyes is a Dominican-American professional baseball pitcher who currently plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on August 29, 1994, in Elizabeth, New Jersey. The St. Louis Cardinals signed Alex as an amateur free agent in 2012, and he made his MLB debut with the team in 2016. He has played in two All-Star Future Games and was one of the two Cardinals’ Co-Minor League Pitchers of the Year in 2015. He was included in the all the All- Star Team in 2021.

Soon after, he caught the eye of a prospector named Valera, eventually being noticed by St. Louis Cardinals scout Rodny Jiménez.

The Cardinals invited him for a private workout at their team academy in Santo Domingo. Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak noted that Alex’s athleticism played a significant role in the team’s decision to consider him. The Cardinals later signed him in December 2012.
