Amit Kumar: A Brief Biography

Amit Kumar Dahiya is an Indian wrestler who represented India at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Besides being the youngest wrestler in the Indian delegation he is also the youngest wrestler ever to represent India at the Summer Olympics. A little over seven years of age, he tackled a seventh grade student, winning te respect of his teachers and family who encouraged him to pursue his talent. He was admitted in the akhara of Hansrajji. His talent continued to develop over the years. Impressed by his potential, wrestling coach and former Asian and Commonwealth Games medallist Satpal Singh took him in his Delhi\'s wrestling training centre. Though Amit qualified for the first and the second rounds of the repechage at the London Olympics 2012, he lost out in the second round of the repechage stage of the 55kg freestyle category.
