Borja Ekiza

Borja Ekiza Imaz (born in Pamplona, Spain) is a Spanish football player who plays as a central defender for Athletic Bilbao. Borja took placed at Athletic Bilbao\'s youth system at the age of fourteen. He then moved to the CD Baskonia in 2006 and spent his first two senior years in the club\'s third team. Thereafter, he joined with Bilbao Athletic, later Ekiza played in the reserve in Segunda Division B until a series of injuries arrived in the defence line of the main squadron. He made his La Liga debut against Malaga CF and finished his first top flight season established in the side\'s starting XI, thus overcoming such veterans as Aitor Ocio, Fernando Amorebieta and Ustaritz in the struggle for a place and being booked only once throughout the whole season.
