Brede Paulsen Hangeland is a Norwegian football central defender who plays for Fulham in the Premier League and the Norwegian national team. His characteristic calm nature is known for combining great flying ability and physical strength with genteel technique and ambulation. Brede started his professional football career in Viking by signing a contract and joining the first team of the club where he was gradually acclimating to professional football and making confident as well as conclusive defensive display. Along with Paulsen, he became one of the anchor players of the team, made 114 appearances and scored six goals in the interim of five years for Viking. Thereafter, he transferred to the Danish club F.C. Copenhagen in January 2006 there he played in 63 league matches, scored 3 times and played in over 100 games in the different tournaments. Finally he signed on with the English side Fulham in 2008, where he made a total of 159 appearances as well as went on to became the captain of Fulham and Norwegian national team.
