Carlos Marchena López is a Spanish football central defender who plays for Deportivo de La Coruña. He can also play as a defensive midfielder. Lopez inaugurated his youth career with Sevilla FC, where he played in the Segunda Division. During the season 1999-2000, he made his top flight debut draw with Real Sociedad. Subsequently, he signed a four year contract with Valencia CF in 2000 where he played more than 230 games, he spent nine years with this club. Thereafter , Carlos confirmed with Villarreal CF for three seasons and permanently joined Deportivo la Coruna at the age of 33 in 2012. As well as, Marchena López was called up for the Spanish national team to represent the country at Euro 2004. Having played with Valencia he won the 2003/04 UEFA Cup , 2004 UEFA Super Cup and 2007/08 Copa Del Rey . Along with he made his international debut and helped Spain to win silver at the Olympic games.
