Emiliano Ariel Rigoni is an Argentine player who was born on 4th February, 1993 at Colonia Caroya, Argentina. Rigoni is a right footed right winger who plays for Zenit St. Petersburg and Argentina National team.

Background

Rigoni started his youth career by joining Belgrano team in 2005. He played in the youth team for 8 years before making the senior appearance in 2013. He made his senior debut for Belgrano against CA Lanus in a 3-0 defeat.

Rigoni played for Belgrano for 3 seasons scoring 8 goals. He then moved to Independiente for a reported fee of 1.55 million euros.

Rigoni played at Independiente for 2 seasons in which 2016-17 was his best season where he scored 12 goals.

He then moved to Zenit St. Petersburg in the 2017-18 season for 9 million euros. His wonderful performances has earned him a place in the Argentina National team.

Debut

Rigoni made his debut for Argentina against Peru in the 2018 World Cup Qualifier on 5th October, 2017. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.

Rigoni has made an immediate impression with Zenit as he has scored 6 goals in the Continental Cup. He has got great ability to cross the ball and make sudden runs into the box which has helped Zenit in terms of attack.
