Fabricio Bustos

Fabricio Bustos is an Argentine professional footballer who plays for Argentine club Club Atlético Independiente. He was born on 28th April 1996 and usually features as a right back in the backline. Also a makeshift right midfielder, he is a right-footed player.

Hailing from Ucacha, Córdoba, he won the Copa Sudamericana with Independiente during 2017 season and South American Under-17 Championship with Argentina in 2013.

Background

He started his career with local club Jorge Newbery before moving to Independiente youth academy.

He spent 8 years in the academy before signing his first professional contract for Independiente in 2016.

In the meantime, he had featured for Argentina U17 and Argentina U20 teams in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

Debut

In 2016, Bustos was promoted to play in the league by coach then head coach Gabriel Milito. On 5th December 2016, he made his professional debut in a 1–0 home win over River Plate.

He went on to make 19 appearances for the club that season as they finished the season at the 6th position and qualifying for Copa Libertadores group stage.

Rise to glory

He had made a total of 7 appearances for the Argentina U17 club in 2013 before being promoted to Argentina U20 the following year.

After making his professional debut in 2016, he had featured in 21 matches for Independiente. He won the Copa Sudamericana with them in the 2017 season.

He scored his first goal in the third minute of Newell Old Boys vs Independiente’s Primera División match where his team won by the margin of 2-4.

Club career

After making his move from Jorge Newbery to Independiente youth academy, he spent 8 years before featuring in the league.

He played in the 2016 season for Independiente where he became an important part of the club in his debut season making an overall of 19 appearances.
