Lukasz Teodorczyk: A Brief Biography

Łukasz Teodorczyk is a Polish professional football player who was born on 3 June 1991 in Żuromin, Poland.


Teodorczyk is a striker and mainly plays as a centre-forward. Currently, he is serving Belgian club Anderlecht and the Poland national football team.


Background


Teodorczyk started his professional football career by joining Wkra Żuromin in 2008. Staying with the club, he impressed everyone with his early delineation. As a result, Polonia Warsaw signed him to play at Ekstraklasa. He made his debut on 29 October 2010 and afterwards played 21 matches in his first season of Ekstraklasa youth league. He is up to mark in his very first season scoring 15 goals for his team. Later, he also played 6 senior league games.


Debut


On 22 March 2013, he made his international debut for Poland national team. In his debut match, Poland had taken Ukraine for World Cup qualifier game but eventually lost the match by 1-3.


On 27 August 2014, Ukrainian Premier League club Dynamo Kyiv signed him for a five year contract and he played his first game on 30 August 2014 against Chornomorets Odesa. Coming in the 85th minute of the match, he instantly provided an assist to finish the game with 2-0 win.


Rise to glory


Teodorczyk was undoubtedly a splendid performer since his inception but with Dynamo, his career touched some new heights. On 13 September 2014, he netted his first goal for the Dynamo against Zorya Luhansk finishing the match on 2-2 draw. In his very first season with the club, he played 13 games of Ukrainian Premier League scoring 5 times and helping his team to win the title eventually. He also played 6 Europa Cup matches scoring 3 goals and leading his club to the quarter finals.


On 24 November 2015, Teodorczyk featured in his first UEFA Champions League fixture against FC Porto. He had come as a replacement in the 87th minute of this 2-0 victory.


After a successful career with Dynamo, Teodorczyk moved to his current club Anderlecht on loan. On 7 August 2016, he played his first game for his new club and also scored a goal helping his team to defeat K.V. Kortrijk by 5-0. After staying with club for two seasons and performing well enough, Anderlecht decided to sign a permanent contract with him which would end in 2020.


He didn't disappoint his club scoring 22 goals in 2016–17 Belgian First Division A and also won top scorer of the season award. As a result, Anderlecht won the tournament and later they also claimed 2017 Belgian Super Cup.



Records


Teodorczyk has played 219 games for several clubs in various leagues scoring overall 96 goals and providing 31 assists. Most of his goals has come in Ekstraklasa, 33 of them in 80 matches. In Premier Liga, he has played 24 games and got 10 goals in his name.


He has most successful career with his current club, RSC Anderlecht. Appearing in 87 games for the club, he scored 42 goals.


In the international football, Teodorczyk has played 15 matches for Poland netting the ball for 4 times.
