Marcos TÊbar Ramiro is a Spanish professional footballer who currently plays for the Indian Super League club FC Pune City. TÊbar was born on 7th February 1986 in Madrid, Spain.
He is a product of the famous 'La FÃĄbrica' academy, the youth academy of Real Madrid and made a senior appearance for them before departing on loan spells to other La Liga outfits Girona and UD AlmerÃa in 2010.
The right-footed player predominantly plays the role as a defensive midfielder. He won the Silver medal with Spain U17 in FIFA U-17 World Cup 2003 and the UEFA European Under-17 Championship in the same year.
Background
TÊbar started his football youth career at the age of 9 with Escuela FÃētbol A.F.E. On 1998, Real Madrid youth scouts were impressed with his potential and brought him to the much famed Real Madrid youth setup at the age of 12.
At just 16, TÊbar got his first match time in a friendly versus Sevilla in September 2002 where he replaced Albert Celades during the first half of a 0â1 defeat. In 2003â04 season, He made his senior debuts with the Real Madrid C-team in Tercera DivisiÃŗn, also appearing with the reserves in the same campaign.
Debut
TÊbar was called up for the Real Madrid in November 2005 by Vanderlei Luxemburgo. La Liga match against Real Zaragoza. He remained unused in the eventual 1â0 win and was also on the bench in a match against Getafe CF on 3 December.
He made his move back to RM Castilla who are the Real Madrid B-Side and on 15th January 2006, TÊbar made his debut as a professional, coming on as a second-half substitute in a 1â3 loss at CD CastellÃŗn for the Spanish second division.
Rise to glory
On 18 January 2006 TÊbar joined city neighbors Rayo Vallecano on loan until June. He appeared in 17 matches for them and scored his first goal against Universidad de Las Palmas CF in the 2-1 win on 19th March.
He returned after the loan spell and his form was noticed by the main squad by manager Juande Ramos and called him up for the final match of 2008â09 against CA Osasuna. He made his debut in the La Liga the following day, replacing Kagelmacher in the 58th minute in the 1â2 loss.
During the January 2010 mid-season transfers, TÊbar made a loan switch to Girona FC. However, he started the next seasonâs pre-season with Real Madrid under new boss JosÊ Mourinho and eventually left the club in 13th August after being sold for just âŦ100.
He spent 3 years with the Catalans where he was an essential midfield unit during his spell with the side, scoring his first goal after failing to score even in the 9 match loan spell earlier on 1st September 2012 in a 1â0 home win over SD Ponferradina.
He made a total of 144 appearances in his 3 season career netting 4 times before making a switch to AlmerÃa.
Low points
He wasnât satisfied with his newly promoted club and left them after just a season even after making 29 appearances consisting of 16 starts.
On 25 June 2014, TÊbar signed for English Championship side Brentford on a two-year contract. He made a total of just 6 appearances and with manager Mark Warburton unhappy with his match fitness as he was sidelined with the thigh injury in the 2014-15 season and Hamstring injury in the 2015-16 season. His contract was eventually terminated on 19th December 2015.
He then made a couple of switches to Segunda DivisiÃŗn sides and a couple of Indian Super League sides.
Club career
TÊbar spent most of his time across the three-tier of Real Madrid clubs between 2003-2010 and loan moves to Rayo Vallecano in 2006 and Girona in 2010.
He made 114 appearances with Girona after making his loan spell a permanent one and scored 4 goals for the club. He spent a season in the top division with AlmerÃa and even after being a regular with them and successfully escaping the relegation battle, he left the club the championship side Brentford the following season.
On August 2016 he was with UE Llagostera and making 20 appearances in 4 months, he moved to the Indian Super League side Delhi Dynamos. CD Reus of Segunda DivisiÃŗn approached him for his services and made a free transfer switch making just 9 appearances.
He returned to India but this time for FC Pune City on 4 August 2017. On 22 November, he made his debut in a 3â2 defeat against Delhi Dynamos FC where he scored a consolation in the dying minutes.
