Michal Pazdan: A Brief Biography
Michal Pazdan is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a full center-back in the Poland senior national team. He has played for some prestigious clubs during the course of his career, some of them are - Hutnik Krakow, Gornik Zabrze and Jagiellonia Bialystok. He is currently associated to Legia Warsaw.
Background
Born on 21 September 1987 in Warsaw in Poland, Pazdan started his youth career while playing for a Krakow based local club, Hutnik Krakow. He spent 2 years in their youth set-up.
Senior career
Pazdan soon rose through ranks in the Hutnik and became a part of the main team of the club in 2004.
In 2007, he went for a free transfer to Gornik Zabrze and made his debut against Polonia Bytom. During five years at the club would help the gain promotion back to the Ekstraklasa in 2009/10. He made 126 appearances for the club and scored at 3 times.
At the end of his contract he switched to league rivals Jagiellonia Bialystok in July 2012. He played 82 games and scored 3 goals during his 3 years stay at the club.
On 24 June 2015, Pazdan moved to his hometown team - Legia Warsaw. He played in 24 games in his debut season and impressed by his sharp tackling skills and shear control over ball. He overall made 77 appearances for the club.
Rise to glory
During his debut professional season, he appeared 19 times for the club, 17 of those as a starter. He came into limelight when he helped his team to finish in 8th place that season, their best place till then.
During Euro 2016, Pazdan broke in the national news after the game against World Champions, Germany in a draw. He was adjudged Man of the Match for helping Poland to qualify the knockout stages of the tournament for the first time in history.
International career
Pazdan was called for international duty on 15 December 2007 in a 1–0 friendly win against Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was a member of 23 member squad of Polish in Euro 2008.
Since then, Pazdan has been in and out of the team frequently and successfully made 31 appearances for Poland at the international level.
