Mohamed Ali: A Brief Biography

Mohamed Ali is an Indian professional football player. He was born on 21 August 1992 in Caranzalem, Goa, India. He is plays the role of a Defender in the game. He has made no appearances for the national side till date.

Background


Ali began to have interest in football as a child and was encouraged in school but not in family. He started playing official football for Goa United's under-18 side and then moved to professional club Dempo. He played for the under-18 side in the Taca Goa Under-20 league.

Ali has made no appearances for the national side.


Club Career


He was part of Santa Cruz Club as a senior and Sporting Goa as a youth before joining the Dempo club.


By the 2015–16 Goa Professional League it was notified that Ali had returned to Dempo. By the season end, Ali was in the Goa football team that was to participate in the Santosh Trophy. Ali helped guide Dempo to promotion to the I-League.


It was made public On 9 March 2017 that Ali would join I-League 2nd Division side NEROCA. Once again, Ali helped guide NEROCA to promote to the I-League.


Ali was selected in the 10th round of the 2017–18 ISL Players Draft for the Goa side On 23 July 2017 under the 2017–18 Indian Super League season.


On 19 November 2017 Ali made his professional debut for Goa during their first match of the season against Chennaiyin. In the match Goa won 3–2. Again he was part of Goa vs Mumbai City in which Goa lost.


Ali was part of Goa against Bengaluru on 30 November in their 4–3 victory and even performed well to get the victory. For this performance he was awarded with the Emerging Player of the Match.


In total he has played 3 matches for the club.


On 24 January 2018, Ali signed renewed his contract with the Goa and extended his participation in the club now it being till 2020.
