Pablo Pérez: A Brief Biography

Born on 10th August 1985 in Rosario, Pablo Javier Perez is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Boca Juniors.


His main position is Central Midfield but he can play at other positions like Right Midfield and Attacking Midfield as well.

Background


Perez started his youth career from Newell's Old Boys' club at a young age and then continued his senior career journey with Newell’s till 2014. He spent most time of the career with Newell’s and played a pivotal role to help his side compete in the final of the Premier Division.


Perez moved abroad for the first time in his career on 31st July 2009, and joined Ecuadorian Serie A side, Emelec, on loan until the end of the season where he scored a goal from the midfield during his spell.


Exactly a year later in July 2010, Perez moved to Union de Santa Fe in a temporary deal and he returned back to Newell's in June 2011.


Prenez signed a three-and-a-half year deal with La Liga side Málaga CF on 8th January 2014. On 1st September 2015, Boca Juniors bought Perez on a deal until 2019.


Debut


Perez made his professional debut with Godoy Cruz on 2nd December 2006, in a 2-2 draw game and the following year, he scored his first goal as a professional and also netted a hat-trick in a 4-4 draw.


He capitalized the opportunity and worked hard to impress everyone and from there on, he is having a good club career and is expected to have a better one in the coming games.


However, he couldn't make up to the national side yet, but with incredible performances, he has the ability to turn down the tables.


Club Career


Pablo started his club career with Newell’s where he spent the better part of his career and helped his side to win many matches. In the span of 12 years, he managed to score 19 goals which also include a hat-trick in the 124 appearances he made.

He scored a goal each for Emelec and Malaga in a single season. After joining Unión de Santa Fe, he scored 3 goals during his only season after appearing in 31 matches.


Perez scored eight goals in his return campaign with Newell’s in 2011, and appeared regularly in the following two seasons, where he was also the part of the squad which won the 2013 Torneo Final.

Records


Perez was the part of the Newell's Old Boys club when they reached Primera Division final in 2013.


During his time with Boca Juniors, he was honoured with Primera Division in the year 2015, 2016-17 and Copa Argentina in 2014-15.
