Paulinho Dias is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder on the field. Paulo has a brilliant movement both off and on the ball making him a tough adversary to counter.

He was born on 13 May 1988 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and started his football journey as a youth graduate at Cruzeiro FC.

Background

Paulo joined Cruzeiro FC in 1999 and developed himself in the mid-fielding role. He trained with them and played many youth tournaments. He represented Cruzeiro at the Copa São Paulo de Juniores in 2007 as Cruzeiro won the title defeating São Paulo by 6-5 in a penalty shootout.

Debut

Paulo made his first-team debut on 12 May 2007 in the Brazilian Championship A series against Fluminense resulting in a 2-2 draw. He played his next match against Corinthians which Cruzeiro lost by 0-3.

He was then loaned to Ipatinga while making 15 appearances for them in the 2007 season.

Rise to glory

Paulo has the ability to find the back of the net from a distance. He joined the Guaratingueta in the second division in the 2010 season and made 15 appearances.

In 2012, he joined Chapcoense which were in Serie C and soon became a vital cog in the side.

He enjoyed two successful promotions with the club as it made it to the first division for the first time since 1978.

In 25 appearances for the club he scored three crucial goals along with six assists. This has been the most successful stint of his career with a club.

Club Career

After a more than successful time with Chapcoense, Paulo joined Atletico Paranaense in January 2014. He has made 33 appearances for Paranaense while scoring two goals.

His latest signing has been with the Delhi Dynamos FC in the Indian Super League for whom he has made 12 appearances till now while scoring 1 goal.
