against Pakistan in 2006. The 29-year-old was appointed as the youngest ever captain in 2008 and since then he has taken India to greater heights.
Under his able leadership that India clinched the important 2014 Asian Games gold medal. He has been nominated in the FIH All-Star team twice and nominated as the World Player of the Year in 2012.
