Teofilo Gutierrez

Teófilo Gutiérrez, born on May 17, 1985, is a Colombian footballer who plays for Junior FC in Liga Aguila I as a Secondary Striker.

He started playing during the initial years of,his professional career with Barranquilla in 2006.

Debut

He made his debut for Colombia national football team on August 7, 2009 in which he scored his first goal. On August 5, 2016 he made his debut for Colombia Olympic team.

Rise to glory

He made 16 goals in 28 matches for Barranquilla FC after this successful performance he was called to Atletico Junior senior team. In 2009, during Copa Mustang, scored 16 goals in total and won the Golden Boot of the tournament.

He was awarded Most Valuable Player Turkish Super Cup award in 2010, Top Scorer Torneo Clausura 2011 and South American Footballer of The Year in 2014.

Due to his good performance, he has been a significant player towards his team’s win in several matches like Turkish Cup - Turkiye Kupasi in 2009 by Trabzonspor, Turkish Super Cup- Turkcell Super Kupa in 2009 & 2010 by Trabzonspor, Copa Sudamericana 2013 by Club Atletico River Plate and this team even won Copa Libertadores in 2014. 2014 turned to be good year for Club Atletico River Plate as in the same year, with crucial support and performance of Teofilo they became Recopa Sudamericana winner and Argentinean Champion. Teofilo also helped his team, Sporting CP win Portuguese Super Cup- Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira.

Due to groin operation in 2015 he missed four matches of Sporting CP.
