Vincenzo Iaquinta Biography

Vincenzo Iaquinta is an Italian World Cup-winning footballer who plays as a striker for Serie A club Juventus. Iaquinta started playing in the lower divisions for Reggiolo for the 1996–1997 season. 33 appearences and 6 goals later, Iaquinta transferred to Serie B club Calcio Padova in January 1998. After only 6 months consisting of 13 appearences and 3 goals, Iaquinta was sold to Serie C1 club, Castel di Sangro Calcio. While in Castel di Sangro Calcio, Iaquinta established himself, making 52 appearances and scoring 8 goals. Following this impressive performance, he was whisked away by Udinese Calcio where he had one successful season after another. Soon his skills caught the attention of the European giant Juventus who signed Iaquinta on a five year contract for a fee of €11.3 million in 2007. Presently, he is playing with A.C. Cesena on loan until the end of the 2011–12 season.
