Xavier Torres Buigues

Xavier 'Xavi' Torres Buigues is a Spanish footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Getafe CF. He began his professional debut at local Alicante CF in the 2006-07 season. In 2007, Torres signed up with FC Barcelona where he spent a major portion of his two year spell with the reserve team. On 12 Jun 2009, Torres was signed on by Malaga CF on a free transfer for four seasons. On 30 of August, he scored his first goal with the Andalusians, in a 3–0 win against Atlético Madrid in the 89th minute. He was later loaned to the newly promoted Levante UD. He made appearences in most of the games and became the second most used player in the squad. In 2012, Torres refused a four year contract offered to him by Levante and instead signed a four year deal with Getafe CF for a fee of €400.000.
