Fans of Joe Millionaire will be disheartened to learn about the split between Kurt Sowers and Amanda Pace. Kurt Sowers, who was initially confused while dating 20 women on the show, chose Amanda Pace to spend the rest of his life on the finale episode that aired on March 10, 2022.
Joe Millionaire, a spin-off of Fox’s 2003 hit reality dating show, features 20 women who date two guys, one of whom is a millionaire. Only the finale contestants get to find out if the guy they fell in love with was a millionaire or not. The show primarily features if love weighs more than wealth.
Kurt Sowers lists break-up reason with Amanda Pace after Joe Millionaire
Kurt Sowers had a couple of reasons to break up with Amanda Pace. However, there were speculations that the couple broke up shortly after the show had wrapped in December 2021. There are also rumors that Amanda initiated the breakup after learning about Kurt not being a millionaire.
He admitted in an interview with Distractify:
"It did not work out"
He explained:
"You know, we probably didn't spend enough time together on the show. We didn't really have, I don't think, an understanding for each other, and that was evident pretty quickly after the show ended. We tried to see each other a few times and just tried to make it work and we just figured out we're two completely different people."
He accepted that on-camera things are not the same as off-camera. So when they started getting to know each other post-show, they couldn’t work it out together.
On the other hand, Amanda’s viewpoint has a different approach to their break up after Joe Millionaire. The ambitious businesswoman felt that the long-distance relationship with construction CEO Kurt Sowers was making the relationship difficult to manage. She told Reality Steve Podcast in an interview:
"I'm very in tune with things like who I want and what I want, I think I felt that Kurt wasn't emotionally available."
Kurt Sowers, who was alongside Steven McBee of The Bachelor, was expected to choose Carolyn Moore. But he developed an emotional connection with Amanda that led him to choose her in the end.
