According to the Italian newspaper II Giorno, model Pamela Genini was found dead in her apartment on Tuesday, October 15. The police arrived due to multiple calls from neighbours mentioning they heard screams and cries for help. Genini was reportedly arguing with her 52-year-old boyfriend or ex, Gianluca Soncin, on the balcony of the apartment moments before the incident. She was 29 years old at the time of her death.

The outlet further reported that Pamela Genini was killed after being stabbed 24 times in her body. The model suffered injuries in her neck, back, chest, upper limbs, and hands. Genini's boyfriend, Gianluca Soncin, is one of the suspects in the case and was charged with murder aggravated by stalking, premeditation, and femicide.

Soncin also reportedly suffered two stabs in his neck in an alleged suicide attempt. He was rushed to the Niguarda Hospital in Milan under police supervision, although Genini was declared dead on the spot. The two were reportedly dating for over a year before the murder. Multiple neighbours have reportedly also witnessed the incident.

For those unaware, Pamela Genini is an Italian TV star and model, known for co-founding the swimwear brand, SheLux, alongside Elisa Bartolotti. Genini also ran a real estate business and served as a model in major fashion campaigns in Milan. She also appeared on the reality show, The Island of Adam and Eve, which is known for having naked participants.

Witnesses claim they saw Pamela Genini's alleged murder from her apartment's balcony

After the police arrived at Pamela Genini's apartment, they questioned multiple alleged witnesses and neighbours about the incident. II Giorno reported that multiple witnesses claimed to have seen Gianluca Soncin stabbing Genini on her balcony.

Others mentioned having seen a man storming into the model's apartment ahead of the alleged murder. One witness spoke to II Giorno, claiming they heard "Help! Help!" right before she was stabbed. One of Pamela Genini's friends also told officers that her relationship was Soncin was difficult and she was planning to end it.

Soncin allegedly used a copy of Genini's apartment key to get into her home on Via Iglesias in Milan's Gorla neighbourhood. The model reportedly called the police when Soncin entered her apartment without permission and requested her to take him back. When the police called, she let them in by lying to Soncin about it being Globo, an Italian food delivery service.

A neighbour reportedly shouted to the police to get their attention to what was happening on Pamela Genini's apartment on the third floor. However, Genini was already stabbed by then. Soncin reportedly stopped stabbing her when the police broke in. He reportedly tried to slit his own neck on seeing the police in an alleged suicide attempt and remains in critical condition.

Following her death, Italian entrepreneur Marcella Cannariato mourned Genini's death on Instagram. She suggested that the model's murder marks her as the 17th victim of femicide in Italy this year. In Italy, femicide refers to an aggravated form of homicide where a woman is killed due to gender-based violence or domestic violence.

"For years I’ve been working to support women, to give them tools, networks, and a voice. But until we change the system, until we make the prevention protocols really effective, until the fear of a woman is treated as an exaggeration, we will continue to cry. And I’m done with it. Pamela, your name will stay with us. In the memory. But also in action," she wrote on Instagram.
