"Alexis is one of the greatest unearned blessings of my life. She has transformed me, helping me to ground and center my inner life, and discover the joys of building a nurturing home with someone you love. I’m thrilled to share: Alexis and I are engaged!" Booker wrote.

Cory Booker continued:

"I am savoring the soul-affirming wonder of everyday life with my partner, best friend, and now my fiancée. We are excited for this journey ahead, having so much fun, and feeling deeply grateful for the love, support, and energy so many of you have shared with us. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by such a beautiful community lifting us in love and commitment."

Cory Booker recounted one of his earlier dates with his fiancée

During an August 2025 interview with the Washington Examiner, Cory Booker recounted one of his very first dates with his now-fiancée Alexis Lewis. He explained that Lewis asked him to show her the "For You" page of his TikTok account to gauge the kind of content that he followed, adding:

“I sort of held my breath as I opened it up, and she could see that I’m a nerd who loves food videos, animal videos. It was just a funny moment, because I never thought of it through the dating lens, but here it is, you know, a year and a half later, and we’re still together."

Cory Booker's engagement came months after he delivered a record-breaking 25-hour-long speech at the Senate condemning President Donald Trump and Elon Musk's policies. The speech began on March 31 at 7 pm local time and concluded at 8:06 pm on April 1, 2025.

Beginning the speech with the assurance that he intended to talk for as long as he was "physically able" to, Cory Booker stated that the United States was "in crisis."

“He (Trump) promised to lower your grocery prices – they’re higher. He promised to be a better steward of the economy – it’s worse than what he inherited. Over and over, he’s breaking promises and doing outrageous things like disappearing people off of US streets, violating fundamental principles of this document...For all Americans it’s a moral moment. It’s not left or right. It’s right or wrong,” he concluded.
