American entrepreneur Jeff Bezos and his longtime partner Lauren Sanchez are engaged. As per People Magazine, the news comes after the duo was spotted on a vacation together in the South of France. The 53-year-old media personality showed off her massive engagement ring while relaxing on the 59-year-old former CEO of Amazon's $500 million luxury yacht.
Reportedly, the pair were also spotted attending the premiere of Martin Scorcese's forthcoming film Killers of the Flower Moon at the Cannes Film Festival.
In the picture that went viral online, Jeff Bezos can be seen dressed casually in blue jeans and a black shirt, while Lauren Sanchez opted to wear a white tank top, a beige skirt, and a pair of black shades.
While Sanchez clicked a picture of her phone and used the other arm to support her stance, a massive ring band can be spotted on her finger.
Jeff Bezos gave Lauren Sanchez an "absolute monster" costing millions
As per Page Six, Ajay Anand from Rare Carat estimated the worth of the “absolute monster” that Jeff Bezos gave to Lauren Sanchez to be around $2.5 million. The ring clocks to be 20 carats.
The new stone seems costlier and slightly more luxurious than the 7-to-10-carat heart-shaped diamond ring that Bezos gave Lauren Sanchez in 2019.
Since February 2021, when he stepped down as CEO of Amazon, Bezos has zeroed in on protection and his space exploration company, Blue Origin. Alongside co-chair Sanchez, the 59-year-old has been working for the Bezos Earth Fund, which aims at combatting climate change.
While speaking to CNN in November 2022, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez discussed the plans of giving away his fortune, zeroing in on battling climate change and helping people who can help bridge the large gap between people on social and political problems.
He said:
"The hard part is figuring out how to do it in a levered way. It's not easy. Building Amazon was not easy. It took a lot of hard work, a bunch of very smart teammates, hard-working teammates, and I'm finding — and I think Lauren is finding the same thing — that charity, philanthropy, is very similar."
To this, Lauren said that they make "really great teammates" while working together.
Before Sanchez, Jeff Bezos was married to novelist and philanthropist MacKenzie Scott for 25 years. The duo share four kids together. They got divorced in April 2019, post which, Scott went on to marry and divorce Dan Jewett.
On the other hand, Lauren Sanchez was married to Patrick Whitesell for 13 years before getting divorced in October 2019. The duo shared two kids together. Sanchez also has another kid from her former relationship with NFL player Tony Gonzalez.
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez made their relationship public in 2019, and had been dating for five years before getting engaged.
