"Till we meet again": GOT7 members reunited to send off Jin Young for his mandatory military service

On May 9, 2023, GOT7 member Kim Yugyeom updated fans with an Instagram story where he was seen huggling Jin Young and fellow group member Jay B standing beside them. The group members had reunited to send off the Devil Judge actor for his mandatory military service.

Last month, GOT7's agency BH Entertainment made an official announcement that Jin Young will be enlisting for military service on May 8, 2023. In South Korea, every able-bodied male citizen has to enlist in the military service from the age of 18 to 31 years old and have to serve an overall term of two years, depending on the department they are enrolled in.

Fellow GOT7 member Jay B recently enlisted in the military last January and took a leave to see off Young for military service. Other members also sent their wishes through Instagram comments to the idol.

In the picture shared, Jin Young seemed somewhat annoyed by the hug as observed by fans, who quite enjoyed the candid expression.

They were also emotional about the fact that Jay B took a leave from his military service so that he can send off his fellow group member. Fans are now wishing Jin Young's safe return and praying for his health.

Prior to leaving, Young also revealed his buzzcut for the mandatory military service and also reassured fans that everything was going to be alright.

As the other members of the group seemed to be occupied with their daily activities, BamBam sent his wishes to the idol on his Instagram posts with the caption:

Fans were elated to see that even though the group has left JYP Entertainment and ended their exclusive contract with the agency in 2021, they are still united and have not yet announced their disbandment.

Jin Young's recent activities

The idol recently attended the prestigious and famous Baeksang Arts Awards 2023, where he won the TikTok popularity award alongside IU. He has recently also starred in the film, A Christmas Carol, where fans appreciated the way he pulled off his role.

The GOT7 member's other drama appearances include Yumi's Cells seasons one and two, The Devil Judge, He is Psychometric, Magic School, and a guest appearance in the revenge thriller drama Reborn Rich. Fans are eagerly waiting for his return from mandatory military service so that they can watch him on the big screen again.

Young has also been confirmed to star in the upcoming drama, The Witch, and the series has apparently finished filming.
