MTV’s Jersey Shore: Family Vacation recently saw a surprise return from the previously evicted Ronnie Ortiz-Magro. Magro was arrested on the show in January 2022 after allegations of domestic violence. However, he was released on bail the same day and was revealed to have taken a break from work to focus on his mental health.

Ronnie was given a chance to reconcile with some of his former friends in the latest episode 29 of the ongoing season 6. Titled Deena Makes a Friend, the episode saw Ronnie return to Jersey Shore: Family Vacation after almost two years. His emotional return led to him crying during a conversation with some of his former roommates.

Ronnie arrived on the episode intent on making up with his former roommates. He revealed that he has been on a long journey to recover from his past issues, and one of the steps needed him to address his friends.

Ronnie had to undergo continuous legal troubles followed by a long rehabilitation.

He claimed that some of his friends on the show, including the likes of Mike Sorrentino, Angelina Pivarnick, Nicole Polizzi, and Paul D' DelVecchio, were like his family:

"I love you guys like brothers and sisters. You're the closest thing I have besides my family. I've had a lot of time to reflect over the last two years. It's been a long journey, and I take a lot of responsibility for the things that I've done, not only in the past two years but in the past before that.”

Seeing Ortiz-Magro’s emotional outburst led his friends to break down as well. He claimed that he knew a number of relationships he previously had, had been strained in the past two years. Ronnie seemed intent on rebuilding them, saying all he wanted was to win the trust of his friends once more.

What has Ronnie Ortiz-Magro been up to recently?

Despite allegations of domestic violence against him, Ronnie won the custody of his five-year-old daughter Ariana and recently relocated to Miami. He claimed that he had constantly been working on rebuilding himself, and planned to continue work via therapy.

Ronnie was evidently nervous but also seemed intent on regaining old friends. He claimed that he was well aware some of them might not be willing to talk to him right away. However, the 37-year-old seemed determined to work, and his friends seemed to respond emotionally as well.

Ronnie’s arrival on the show coincided with Sammi Giancola’s departure an episode before. The two were in a relationship but did not come across each other this time around.

Ortiz-Magro was intent on accepting responsibility for the breakdown of his relationships and gave out sincere apologies to each of his former friends. While there was quite a bit of reluctance from the other castmates initially, Ronnie’s sincerity seemed to win over quite a few of them.

New episodes of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation can be watched on MTV every Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
