In their statement, the couple explained that they learned about the loss during a routine pregnancy appointment when doctors could not detect a heartbeat. In their September 27, 2025, Instagram post, they wrote,

"Shortly after they sent us in for an ultrasound where the technician said words we will never forget, ‘I am so sorry I do not have good news."

The couple explained that this was also when they learned their baby’s gender and that a genetic condition had ended the pregnancy at around 17 weeks’ gestation. The couple had announced the third pregnancy on August 20, 2025.

“When we’re not working, we’re not working,” Abby explained, noting that they keep devices away outside of filming schedules. She added that it was important for her children not to see her constantly using her phone and that these boundaries had been “really, really refreshing.”

The couple said that while social media can feel “all-consuming,” they have worked to maintain family time without constant filming, choosing to text or FaceTime relatives privately rather than record content during family moments.
