Vincent Irizarry underwent emergency head surgery on March 11 following an incident in December 2021.

Irizarry's girlfriend Yvonne Glisson also shared the news on Facebook and revealed the backstory that led to this medical emergency.

Yvonne requested the actor’s fans, friends, followers, and prayer warriors to send positive vibes and keep him in their prayers during this difficult time. She even asked everyone to say something special to his surgeon and wished him a successful procedure and speedy recovery.

What happened to Vincent Irizarry?

Vincent Irizzary’s girlfriend Yvonne Glisson revealed through Instagram that in December 2021, the Lying Eyes star walked out of a restaurant/bar and saw a man getting violent with his wife in the parking lot.

The 62-year-old interfered and calmed the man down. However, he violently hit the ground and suffered multiple bruises alongside a serious head gush and concussion, leading to fluid in his brain.

The man then went on to beat his wife unconscious. Irizzary was rushed to the ER and treated for head wounds and injuries, and a few tests were done.

However, the fluid has increased substantially in the last three months, leading to emergency head surgery on Friday morning. Yvonne shared a picture of Vincent with an update on his recovery and wrote,

“Vincent’s surgeon performed the procedure early this am skillfully but finding a bit more than he expected. But he has been watched and tested all day and thankfully fluid has not increased again. They will keep him there and be watching for that or any complications and observing his condition before sending him home.”

Glisson stated that Irizarry has been awake all day talking, eating, and being his ever-charming self with his bandaged head and tubes coming out all over him. She concluded by thanking everyone for their love and well wishes.
