Friends is an American sitcom that was created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman. The show was aired from 22 September 1994 to 6 May 2014 that revolved around the lives of six close friends. The show was shot at Warner Bros Studios in Burbank, California. Between November and December 1993, Kauffman and Crane started creating Friends under the working title Insomnia Cafe. Together, they pitched a seven-page program treatment to NBC after presenting the concept to Bright. The series' name was finally changed to Friends after numerous screenplay revisions and alterations, including the titles "Six of One" and "Friends Like Us."

The show was ranked in the top 10 of the best television series and eventually won the top spot in its eighth season. Around 52.5 million American viewers tuned in for the series finale, which aired on May 6, 2004, making it the fifth-most-watched series finale in television history and the most-watched television episode of the 2000s.
