Encanto director Jared Bush invited Lowri Moore, the girl who inspired Mirabel's look, to the prestigious 2022 BAFTAs. Encanto is a 2021 animated hit by Disney, which has become a phenomenon globally since its premiere last November.

The animated movie revolves around Mirabel, voiced by Stephanie Beatriz, as she fights the great frustration of being the only one in her family who was not granted a magical gift.

Little Lowri Moore wished to see characters wearing glasses just like her in Disney animated movies and her dream came true with Encanto's Mirabel.

Lowri Moore invited to attend BAFTAs by Encanto director Jared Bush

The 12-year-old British schoolgirl wrote a heartfelt and honest letter to Disney three years ago, where she asked for a princess who wears glasses just like her. She has now been invited to the prestigious event, BAFTA awards, by Encanto director Jared Bush.

Lowri Moore, from Chilwell, Nottinghamshire, wrote this letter to Disney when she was 9-years-old, having worn spectacles all her life, but was quite disappointed when she did not receive a response.

However, Jared Bush received the letter and kept it safely, but was unable to inform little Lowri that the lead character of his movie was already set to have glasses.

When Encanto director Jared Bush appeared on BBC Breakfast, he said,

"As it turns out I may be in the UK and I wondered if you might be interested in maybe joining me and the other filmmakers at the Bafta awards ceremony?...It's going to be a really, really great time....I'm so excited to meet you in person, I can tell you all the Disney secrets that I couldn't tell you, but now I can whisper them all to you and no-one can stop me."

Bush further exclaimed,

"She's my hero. I can't imagine being that age and being that brave. You're such an inspiration to all of us....This is a movie that's all about us seeing each other and putting people on the screen that deserve to be seen....And audiences from all over the world have been able to find themselves, their family members in these stories and it's something that we'd always hoped for and it's so rewarding."

Lowri was so happy to receive the invite that she struggled to express herself at that moment and vigorously nodded before the presenter Jon Kay said, "I think that is a yes."

An utterly emotional Lowri then said,

"Oh my goodness, that's crazy. Thank you so much."

Thanking the director, Lowri's mother Cyrilyn Moore, while holding back tears, said,

"That is like the stuff dreams are made of, isn't it? That's beautiful."

The Disney animated movie was nominated for the Best Animated Film award alongside Flee, Luca, and The Mitchells vs. the Machines.

The 75th BAFTAs are all set to be hosted by actress Rebel Wilson this March 13 and will be broadcast exclusively on BBC.
