Chris Jericho's Inner Circle terrorized babyfaces on AEW's Halloween Eve episode

#1 The Inner Circle made a mark by beating up babyfaces of the past and the present

Santana & Ortiz were on the receiving end of heavy jeers last night. Both of them laid an attack on Tag Team legends, Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton of The Rock 'n' Roll Express.

Santana & Ortiz also power-bombed old Ricky Morton through the stage. Both of them would also make their presence felt later by attacking The Young Bucks from the crowd, disguised in Rick & Morty masks.

But the biggest blow to The Elite happened when Jake Hager put down Dustin Rhodes in a brutal backstage brawl.

Fans were misdirected into thinking that all of the action would occur between Cody and Chris Jericho during their contract signing segment.

However, it was the Inner Circle's primary motive to use the contract signing as a distraction for Hager's backstage attack on Cody's older brother.

Jericho's elaborate David S. Pumpkins-Esque attire paired with "Le Champion" smoking a cigar to make his villainous exit was a perfect touch to AEW's Halloween Eve episode.

It was great to see how Cody's genuine, heart-to-heart conversation with Tony Schiavone in a car was mirrored by Chris Jericho's cartoonish heel antics last night.

These contrasting themes make Cody and Jericho's feud an intriguing watch. Let's see what kind of premise they can come up with on next week's episode before their eventual showdown at AEW Full Gear.
