Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley demolished each other in the most brutal mainstream match of 2019!

Undoubtedly, AEW is off to a momentous start after last night's Full Gear Pay-Per-View. The last two matches of the event, where Cody Rhodes came up short against the AEW World Champion, Chris Jericho, and the brutal showdown between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley put Full Gear into the history books forever.

Professional wrestling fans will never forget the main event. Although the first half of the PPV was somewhat bogged down altogether, and the event was too lengthy, it was still a decent lead-in for the top stars to steal the show.

Here are a few interesting observations from AEW Full Gear (November 9, 2019).

#3: MJF betraying Cody Rhodes was a great booking decision for the future

One of the biggest stories from Full Gear deals with the post-match events following Cody Rhodes vs. Chris Jericho's title match.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) threw in the towel when Cody seemed almost unresponsive to Jericho's submission move. Things escalated when MJF pretended to apologize, only to hit his mentor with a low-blow in the end.

We all know that MJF's presence on the sidelines of The Elite was a very interesting concept, because MJF is a natural heel, and he never pretended to be anything else. However, MJF's allegiance to Cody was always one of his defining characteristics.

After the betrayal, it looks like we are finally getting the feud that was eventually going to happen at some point in AEW.

MJF's betrayal also makes Cody look strong after a loss against Jericho because he never quit in the first place. On top of that, this plot point also gives the booking team an easy way to put Cody in another AEW World Title match in the future.

So even if the finish to Jericho vs. Cody might have seemed a bit abrupt, it was necessary to successfully establish their (Jericho, MJF, and Cody) future plotlines on AEW Dynamite.

#2: Who will be the next challenger for Chris Jericho's AEW World Championship?

Now it looks like MJF and Cody Rhodes are going to be embroiled in a personal feud without the AEW World Title in the picture. This leaves an open slot for the new #1 contender for Chris Jericho's championship.

For those unaware, AEW released their first division rankings before Full Gear aired live. The men's division fared as follows:

#1: Cody Rhodes. #2: PAC. #3: Hangman Adam Page. #4: Kenny Omega. #5: Jon Moxley.

From the names listed above, we saw that Cody, PAC, and Omega lost their respective matches last night.

Moxley has been on fire lately, and the ending to last night's Pay-Per-View proved that he is here to stay. On top of that, Full Gear was the peak of the feud between Omega and Moxley, and there's no saying how they can top that.

Will Moxley directly upset the establishment by aiming for the top and calling out the AEW World Champion?

Adam Page may have pushed some ranks forward after his ultimate victory over PAC last night. He could be a good representative of The Elite to challenge The Inner Circle's leader next.

Who do you think will be next in line to take a shot at Chris Jericho's AEW World Championship?

#1: How Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega brought out the best in each other

It is no secret that Jon Moxley's past run as Dean Ambrose in WWE was a topsy-turvy ride from start to finish.

There were a lot of underwhelming moments for him in WWE, especially when fans couldn't understand why he wasn't allowed to fully express himself as a top star in the world of sports entertainment.

Fast forward to AEW Full Gear, it looks like Moxley is the best version of the man behind the character. A relentless Unsanctioned Match between Moxley and Omega turned out to be an insane treat for fans and critics alike.

After all, both men pushed themselves to the limit and lived up to the bout's hype after it was all said and done. They weren't kidding about the brutal violence aspect of the match at all.

On top of that, The Best Bout Machine, Kenny Omega broke away from his recent slump by embracing a more sinister side of pro wrestling. By doing so, he and Moxley put forth the best match of the night.

In conclusion, it looks like Omega and Moxley brought out the best in each other for one night only, as Full Gear's Unsanctioned main event will surely go down as one of the most important milestones in AEW history.

Did AEW Full Gear live up to your expectations?
