5 WWE dream matchups for Ricochet

Ricochet has joined the WWE in time for the Royal Rumble

WWE announced that Trevor Mann, aka Ricochet, had signed a contract with the company. He will work in the Performance Center and then join the NXT roster.

Trevor, who was born on 11 October 1988, comes to WWE with 29 years of age. He grew up in Kentucky. Mann is in a relationship with a professional wrestler Tessa Blanchard.

He began his career in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla on 4 September 2010. He participated in the first round of the Battle of Los Angeles tournament but fell to Claudio. He won that tournament twice later: in 2014 and 2017. He was also a PWF World Champion on one occasion. In fact, he lost it last weekend and then announced his arrival in WWE.

During his way through the independent circuit, he faced several superstars currently working in WWE. Therefore, here are five dream matches that we could see Ricochet in during his stint with WWE.

#5 Ricochet vs Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens, Ricochet's dream opponent in WWE.
Ricochet has already faced Kevin Owens at PWG

In 2011, Ricochet paired with El Generico (Sami Zayn currently). In All-Star Weekend 8, they faced Kevin Owens and Akira (currently in the cruise division of WWE). Ricochet and El Generico took the defeat.

In September of 2012, Ricochet turned to face Kevin, who was the PWG World Champion at that time. He eliminated it in the first round of the Battle of Los Angeles tournament. On 27 October, he faced Michael Elgin and Kevin for the World Championship in a Triple Threat Match. However, Owens retained his title.

Subsequently, Ricochet again faced Kevin in the same promotion. Now, Ricochet will have a brief passage through NXT. We know what Owens achieved in the yellow mark so we could see a great match between them someday in the main WWE roster.

#4 Ricochet vs Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn.
Ricochet used to pair up with Sami Zayn while the duo was at PWG

As mentioned earlier, Ricochet teamed up with Sami Zayn in PWG while the latter used the ring name El Generico. When the team lost, Ricochet was the only culprit. They even faced Roderick Strong and Alex Shelley as a team.

We could see the team reunited once again in WWE. However, I would like to see them in a great rivalry that can be taken to very high levels. Both have the quality to give us a great show.

# Ricochet vs Finn Balor

Finn Bálor.
Finn Bálor and Richochet have had many arguments at NJPW

Unfortunately, Ricochet and Finn Balor did not agree in a quadrilateral in their stage for New Japan Pro-Wrestling. WWE likes to have big fights first of all. That's why seeing them in a heads-up match in one of their squares would be great.

Finn Balor can forge a path this year to capture the Universal Title once again while Ricochet can be consolidated in NXT at the same time. When the time comes, they can face off in an unprecedented battle.

#2 Ricochet vs Adam Cole

Adam Cole.
Adam Cole could be Richochet's first major match-up in NXT

Ricochet had the opportunity to face Adam Cole during his debut in Dragon Gate USA on 24 July 2010. However, he did not do it in a heads-up.

On the other hand, he also faced re-Dragon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly). Back then in NJPW, Ricochet was a teammate of Matt Sydal (Evan Bourne in WWE).

With the right companion, Ricochet could face undying rivalry with The Undisputed Era. Everything could end in a heads up against Adam Cole in a great event of the yellow mark.

#1 Ricochet vs Johnny Gargano

Johnny Gargano.
Johnny Gargano and Ricochet have faced each other many times in the past already

During his time in Evolve and Dragon Gate, Ricochet repeatedly faced Johnny Gargano. However, initially, he did it in tag-team matches.

In Freedom Fish, Ricochet challenged Gargano for Open Freedom Gate Championship in a Fatal Four-Way Elimination Match where Akira and AR Fox were also included. On 4 April 2014, Ricochet beat Gargano to become champion. However, Johnny later regained the title.

Right now, Johnny Gargano is in master plans of NXT. He will face Andrade "Cien' Almas on 27 January at TakeOver: Philadelphia.

Gargano could become NXT Champion while Ricochet is preparing for the WWE Performance Center. A rivalry could start between the two that could lead them to compete for titles at NXT.
