What's the story?

Chris Jericho was recently announced as a part of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), and he will possibly be the top dog in the promotion.

In his latest Talk Is Jericho podcast, Jericho spoke about his decision to join the new promotion, as well as the negotiations he had with other promotions.

He revealed how he was close to signing with another promotion before AEW.

In case you didn't know...

Chris Jericho, alongwith The Young Bucks, Cody Rhodes, Adam Page, Pac (formerly known as Neville in WWE) are a few of the big names that will be a part of AEW.

The heart of the matter

In his podcast, Jericho spoke about how he has been impressed with Impact Wrestling and the direction they've been heading in with Scott D'Amore and Don Callis at the helm. He revealed that Impact made an offer to him, and they had some exciting matches planned.

"I really, really enjoy it (Impact Wrestling), and I even thought long and hard about doing some shows there. I even had a meeting with Scott (D’Amore) and Don (Callis) in Toronto with Ed Nordholm; the offer they made was a great offer.

"That’s something funny, when I hear ‘all of these companies are vying for talent, free agents -- WWE, AEW, New Japan, Ring Of Honor, MLW -- dude, what about IMPACT? They’ve got money. They were going to spend some money on Chris Jericho. We had some great matches planned -- Jericho versus Sami Callihan, Johnny Impact, Brian Cage -- Rich Swann. I’d love to work with Rich Swann," said Jericho about his discussion with Impact Wrestling (H/T Uproxx for the transcription)

What's next?
