What’s the story?

Earlier today, Impact Wrestling posted an official statement of their website, announcing the arrival of a brand new stable, the Desi Hit Squad which will be led by Impact’s latest signing Gama Singh. As noted, the Desi Hit Squad is an all Indian faction and the group will soon make their Pop TV debut.

In case you didn’t know…

Formerly known as Great Gama, Gama Singh is a former WWF superstar who worked for Vince McMahon’s promotion during the year 1984-1985 and while working under the WWF, Gama mostly competed in undercard matches on WWF house shows.

Trained by the legendary Stu Hart, Gama Singh is also the uncle of former WWE Champion and current Smackdown Live superstar Jinder Mahal, and earlier in the year, Singh signed a contract with Impact Wrestling as it was announced by the company that he would be forming a brand new stable playing off his old Karachi Vice stable called the "Desi Hit Squad".

The heart of the matter

Impact Wrestling made history last year when they taped an episode of Impact Wrestling in India and became the first-ever North American wrestling promotion to tape a weekly episode in India and fresh off the huge success in Mumbai last year, Impact Wrestling is now all set to create a platform for the most promising wrestlers hailing from India. As announced by Impact, the Desi Hit Squad is now all set and ready to make their presence felt in the Impact Zone in the coming months.

The Desi Hit Squad will be led by former three-time Stampede World Mid-Heavyweight Champion Gama Singh. Other members include the winner of the 2017 Global Forged competition Rohit Raju, former Ring Ka King star Vikas Kumar, Gursinder Singh who has trained under wrestling veteran Lance Storm, and CWE trainee Bhupinder Singh.

What’s next?

Impact Wrestling has confirmed that this faction will make their television debut very shortly and this group surely promises to offer a lot to the table.

Author’s Take

Personally, I think that if Impact Wrestling can put this stable in some interesting storylines, however, most of the members of this group are still in their learning days so Impact needs to be really careful with these youngsters in terms of booking.
