NJPW News: New Japan Pro Wrestling files for three new trademarks in the USA
NJPW is all set to make a grand return to the US later in the year.
What’s the story?
According to the latest report from PWInsider, New Japan Pro Wrestling has recently applied to file three different trademarks in the US: Strong Style, King of Sports, and Strong Style Evolved, all of which are currently being used for clothing purposes.
In case you didn’t know…
After a successful tour of the US last year during the G1 Climax special, NJPW are all set to make their return to the USA later this year as the Japanese promotion gets all set to host the first ever Strong Style Evolved pay-per-view at the Walter Pyramid.
The heart of the matter
As per reported by PWInsider, NJPW has now filed three trademarks for the terms Strong Style, King of Sports, and Strong Style Evolved and as noted, in the previous section, these trademarks were being used for clothing purposes in the USA.
However, the apparent reason why NJPW are applying for “Strong Style Evolved” is for the following categories: Educational and instruction services relating to arts, crafts, sports or general knowledge; arranging, conducting and organization of seminars; arranging, conducting and organization of conferences, lecture meeting, workshops, symposiums; production of radio or television programs; Production of videotape film in the field of education, culture, entertainment or sports (not for movies or television programs and not for advertising or publicity); organization, arranging and conducting of sports competitions; organization, arranging and conducting of martial arts; booking of seats for show; presentation of live show performances; presentation of magic performances; direction or presentation of plays; presentation of musical performances.
As noted earlier, NJPW will host the Strong Style Evolved pay-per-view on 25th of March, when they make their return to Long Beach, California for the second year in a row, however, this time NJPW will be taking over the Walter Pyramid for the Strong Style Evolved PPV. Additionally, tickets have already been sold out for the venue.
The Strong Style Evolved pay-per-view will certainly prove to be one of the biggest and historic events in NJPW history and with the show being set to take place in the US, fans will have the chance of witnessing the likes of Kazuchika Okada, Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes and others make an appearance at the Walter Pyramid later this year.
