Ospreay gained early control of the match and kept Ibushi under his control, and traded blows in the middle of the ring. Ibushi used his athleticism with a Hurricanrana, and a Corkscrew Moonsault to the outside to gain back momentum.

Ibushi hit a huge German Suplex for a near fall but was dropped by a rolling kick. Both men were exchanging blows and the pace slowed down, as Ibushi tried to gain back control.

After a fast-paced sequence, both men took each other down in a dual Spanish Fly. Ibushi hit a hard knee to the side of Ospreay's head, who looked like he was down for the count, as he was hit with the Last Ride Powerbomb for another near fall.

Ibushi hit a Double Stomp on Ospreay on the top rope, followed by a German Suplex but Ospreay landed on his feet. Ibushi's face was busted open during this sequence. Ibushi hit Ospreay with a modified Piledriver but Ospreay shocked everyone by kicking out. Ospreay managed to land a Stormbreaker which took out Ibushi.

Results: Will Ospreay defeated Kota Ibushi to become the new NEVER Openweight Champion.
