The Premier League hat-trick by Dennis Bergkamp might not have a lot of importance associated with it, but the grace and beauty are unparalleled.
The first goal was a 30-yard curler from the edge of the box after a corner kick. The second was an exhibition of instinctive finish along with a bit of luck and the third was poetry in motion.
Going by the Dutchman’s own words, “In football you have certain things in your mind which you want to achieve. In my mind I knew I wanted to do it like that and it worked exactly as I had planned it just two seconds before. With these sorts of goals there is a lot of skill involved and it has to come together.” They really did in all three cases.
